Charlie Baker's World Math - Lesson #4

It is time for another lesson on how math works in Charlie Baker's world. In the real word, 4.9 is larger than 2.4. In fact, it is almost twice as much. However, that doesn't seem to be the case in Charlie Baker's world.

The Massachusetts Taxpayer's Foundation, a respected independent budget organization, conducted a study for the Boston Globe that proved that state spending grew twice as fast under Charlie Baker than during the Patrick administration. When Baker was in charge of the state's budget, state spending grew 4.9% annually, while Governor Patrick has held state spending under 2.4%.

And in Charlie Baker's World, they still believe 2.4 is bigger than 4.9.

Patrick and Cahill have spent money like the federal gov't over the last 4 yrs. Time for fiscal sanity to return to Beacon Hil. #magovless than a minute ago via ÜberTwitter

You must use the same calculator that Baker uses. Fact is that spending is DOWN! In fact that has been a criticism of Patrick's policies from some quarters who feel that cuts have hurt their cause. You can try to decieve people and manipulate the facts but unfortunately, for you, people aren't stupid. They know a lie when they see one.

Welcome to Charlie Baker's World

Welcome to Charlie Baker's world: a tongue-in-cheek look at a special place where Charlie Baker can use "facts" that aren't true; a place where, when things don't go well, it isn't his fault or he wasn't involved; a place where anything might happen.
